Life Can Be Sweet

One of my favorite areas in Eugene is close to the University of Oregon campus at 19th and Agate. There are 2 restaurants, 1 pub, 1 bistro and an ice cream shop. All of the establishments in the neighborhood have outdoor seating areas which are perfect to soak up the rare bit of Oregon sunshine.

After going to Agate Alley Bistro (fantastic happy hour with $5 veggie burgers and fries) with 2 friends on Memorial Day weekend, I decided to splurge and have an ice cream cone at Prince Puckler's. It was fabulous. But don't take my word for it. Read the 23 reviews on the place.

Now, this is NOT meant to be a political post so spare me the complaints but when Barak Obama was campaigning in Eugene, he stopped for ice cream at Prince Puckler's. They even have the Register Guard article on the wall. I tried to search for the actual on-line article but the Guard's archive search function is quite poor. Nevertheless...President Obama's favorite flavor of ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip which is MY favorite as well!

The sun was shining so I really went overboard and sat on a swing in a nearby park while enjoying the treat. I do love spring and what feels like an early summer.
